The need of the hour is to enhance the quality and content of higher education, Additional Secretary of University Grants Commission Pankaj Mittal has said.
She was speaking at the second edition of the higher education conclave conducted by Visakhapatnam zone of Confederation of Indian Industry here on Friday. With ‘Higher education and skilling: quality, governance and innovation’ as the theme, the conclave served as an appropriate ground to connect the stakeholders and bring them on a single platform to share best practices that would help restructure the higher education system.
Chairman of CII western region and managing director and CEO of Aptech Limited Ninad Karpe said “Selecting the right mode of education plays an imperative role and technology can be used to solve a range of problems that plague the present education system.”
Collector Pravin Kumar stressed on creating synergy between institutions and industries to improve the standard of education in Andhra Pradesh.
Lead convenor (HR & CSR panel) CII Andhra Pradesh V.V.M. Krishna delivered keynote address.
Director for South India of British Council Mei-Kwei Barker emphasised on capacity building and adopting sustainable measures to strengthen graduates in meeting industrial needs.
