Large relief, subsidized gas cylinder became cheaper

New Delhi-Central Government is now going to completely withdraw subsidy on LPG cylinders. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday said the government has asked the public sector oil companies to increase the subsidy of subsidized LPG cylinders by 4 rupees per month by March next year to complete the subsidy.
Earlier, IOC, HPCL and BPCL were ordered to raise 14.2 kg subsidized LPG cylinders per month by two rupees per month. Now this increase has been doubled. Each household is entitled to 12 cylinders in a year.
It will increase the price on a small 5 kilogram cylinder. Earlier on July 1, 2016, the government asked the petroleum companies to increase the cylinder by two rupees a year ago.
Subsidized LPG consumers in the country have 18.11 million customers. There are also two and a half million poor women, who have been given free connections under the Prime Minister's Ujjwala scheme last year.
Oil companies have raised prices twice after the new order. On July 1, the price of LPG cylinder was increased by 32 rupees, which was the highest in the last six years. The subsidized LPG cylinder currently costs Rs 477.46 in Delhi. In June last year, its price was Rs. 419.18. The subsidized LPG cylinder costs Rs 564.
